Consumer Scam Alert: QuickBooks 2024 “Non-Subscription Listings"
We want to alert customers/consumers about a growing number of listings online claiming to sell QuickBooks 2024 as a one-time purchase or non-subscription version. Please be aware that QuickBooks 2024 is only available as a subscription-based product from Intuit. Intuit did not release a legitimate non-subscription version of QuickBooks 2024.
Sellers are advertising “lifetime,” “one-time purchase,” or “non-subscription” copies of QuickBooks 2024. In many cases, these versions install and appear to work initially. However, once the software updates or verifies the license, the program will recognize that no active subscription is attached to the account.
When this happens, the software will lock access to the company file in view only mode, often within a few weeks of use, until a subscription is purchased. This situation will leave users unable to open their accounting data unless they pay for the subscription.
Important things to know:
There is no legitimate non-subscription version of QuickBooks 2024. Listings advertising a “lifetime” or “one-time purchase” version of QuickBooks 2024 should be treated as a scam. INTUIT converted to subscriptions starting with QuickBooks 2022 2023 and 2024. QuickBooks 2024 NON subscription doesn't exist period!
Losing access to your company file is a real risk when using these versions.
For customers who want a true one-time purchase (non-subscription) version, the last versions released by Intuit that function this way are QuickBooks 2000 through QuickBooks 2021. Our goal is to keep customers informed and protect them from misleading listings and potential loss of access to important financial data.
